Pedro Batista (b. 1980) is a painter based in Lisbon. He grew up in Carcavelos, between the city and the sea: an area where the culture of skateboarding, surfing, and garage bands shaped his practice, resulting in a free and spontaneous attitude, which accompanied his journey as a person and artist ever since. His work delves into the relationship between representation and memory. His paintings navigate historical, political, and social themes, offering a contemplative exploration of the nature of images and their influence on perception.
